Damage Per Second

Damage Per Second (DPS) is the average amount of damage a Weapon, Character or Skill can deal per second. The DPS on a Weapon in Diablo 3 is determined by the Weapon's damage as well as by the Attacks Per Second of the Weapon.

There are also Skills in Diablo 3 that deal Damage Per Second or Damage Over Time (DoT). As long as an enemy is in the Area of Effect or is affect by a DoT Ability, that enemy will take a certain amount of damage every second.

So what you are saying is.... these abilities do damage like dps?

Yes as long as the enemy is affected by the skill. (E.g. In the area of the Blizzard effect)
